Unlike silver jewelry, gold jewelry does not require as much as maintenance, for it does not tarnish as quick as silver jewelry.However, gold jewelry can still become dirty during daily wear and must be cleaned timely to make sure it looks the best.

Before you start to clean your gold jewelry, you should still take some precautions, even though gold jewelry can be cleaned with those commonly household cleaning products. The first important warning is that never let your gold jewelry be contacted with bleach and chlorine, because these chemicals can permanently discolor your valuable gold jewelry.

Another warning for jewelry cleaning is to avoid having soap scum near the place where the gemstone are mounted. When you are cleaning around the area, you should use a cloth dipped in the cleaning solution and
make sure your gold jewelry is rinsed off completely. By doing so, there will not be any residual soap discolor your gold jewelry later.
